The little kids enjoyed an easter egg hunt with neighborhood kids today.
It was the same hunt as usual. Yesterday I dropped off a dozen eggs for each kids that would be participating, and today they got to go find them. They had four age groups at 4 different houses: 0-3 year olds at Dahle's, 4-6 at Morgans, 6-8 at Stevens, 8+ at Jensens. I stayed with Katharine.
She gave pink eggs priority and gathered up he 12 no problem (since she was competing with 1 and 2 year olds)
Piece of cake!Peter found his dozen eggs pretty easily.
Daniel was struggling, he only had 8, so then we helped him out.

I never saw Owen, so I assume he was good. After each kids finds 12, they come back to the circle and wait, and after everyone has gotten 12, then it's a free for all to find any extras. The older kids usually run back for that chance, but K was content with her collection. With each one she opened, she gasped with surprise! (little video here)
Katharine you are so cute and so fun. Back home with their loot - taking off their shoes then gonna dig in and eat the rest of their sugar.Pretty pink eggs. Peter got a green balloon. Green is probably the color Peter most associates with, cause of dinosaurs.
Or red and blue (Spiderman)
So today I did a little bit of Easter Prep, I'm goign to make a cute veggie tray on Sunday when family comes over, fun! Something like this:
There was another one that had the bunny make out of bread, but I'm not very good at making dough animals, so yeah, I'll stick with a head of hummus. Ride to the ruins today, I like our canyon trail.

The mountains are good therapy, sigh. Pretty snow...
blue sky...
It fills my cup, then I'm ready to take on the day. Hyrum has been home and he's always a good help. He was kinda sad today (mostly joking) saying how he feels bad that his younger siblings are not having as good of a childhood as he had. They don't appreciate date night - Owen was off with friends, kids didnt' really care to gather for a movie, I didn't bother getting a pizza, he says it's just sad. Corey and I are still doing or part of the date night tradition. We go out! Kids can do what they want. We went to Aubergine in Draper tonight.
Tonight I shared with Corey a quote that I heard on a podcast on my bike ride (Choosing Glory episode 5.17 for D&C 37-40, about minute 13:10) about how sometimes we think God works slowly in our lives (like answering our prayers, I was thinking maybe this is what's been happening with Corey's career, Movie Mouth and the new project he's been working on...) so it seems like God's not listening or answering our prayers slowly, but in reality, God works very fast in our lives, but he does not begin until the time is ready for the work to be accomplished - like with Joseph Smith and the plates - vision at 14, another visit 4 year after that, then 4 more years of an annual visit in September (slow, slow...) but then when it was time, the book was miraculously translated in 60 working days!!! Wow, and published just as quickly and miraculously. So I liked that and it gave me hope that God is hearing our prayers and will answer them, but the time is not here yet for him to do so. So we'll keep on keeping on and put our trust in God and HIS TIMING.
We made a list on our date and thus I have my plans for Easter Sunday. The Wride side of the family is coming over, and I invited Hibberts too, but they can't come until a little later. So the timeline is:
Arrive between 4-5
dinner at 5
Egg hunt 6
Dessert 7
Easter Devotional at sunset
C&T - main dish (lamb roast with carrots and potatoes)
N&J - salad and some other side dish
M&C - rolls and dessert
Beka and Matt are coming not sure at 5 or 6
Neil and my parents at 6
Corey's dad donated $ for the easter egg hunt, so there are 200+ eggs, half with candy, half with coins of various amounts. I think Wayne gave Corey $90 in coins. Should be fun and make it exciting for the older kids.
