Christmas Deals

Yesterday my sister in Law Amy texted me that she was at an outlet place in Layton called Final Markdown that had A LOT of Chosen merchandise for .75 cents each! She spent some time digging through to find things for her family and offered to pick up stuff for us too - She got us like 16 hoodies and shirts that we can give to the kids and kid in laws. I saw these calendars at Big Deal Outlet tonight and almost wanted to get them and pretend we had this theme planned this whole time.

Last night for date night, Corey and I grabbed a slice of pizza from the kids and then went to his dad's house and wrapped the Chosen stuff and all the Christmas presents he's been stock piling. It didn't hit the spot for one on one date night time, so we did a redo tonight (Aubergine and climbing). I was feeling pretty blah yesterday after we were done wrapping. I usually feel like that as I'm working on Christmas stuff on Christmas Eve. I hope I'm getting the exhaustion from the holidays over with a little early? Or atleast I hope I'll not be getting such a big dose of it on Christmas Eve cause I'm spreading out the exhaustion over a few days. Ugh, I was so tired.

Corey has picked up bargain things over the past month (you older kids, stop reading this) and has stashed things at his dad's. He really wanted me to go see all the deals are Warehouse B, and since my bike needed to be service, I dropped it off on Thursday and then swung by Warehouse B while I was in the area. I was not so impressed and didn't get anything. Today he went and picked up my bike from Ari and then went by Warehouse B again to see if there were any last item things that caught his eye.

He's done a lot of searching, and after all the shopping and effort that I know Corey's done, and then. last night, to see what we've gathered and start to divvy it all out, it seemed like it wasn't much and I'm worried Christmas is on track to be a bit "meh" so that's a little discouraging. I don't mind having a meh Christmas at all, as evidenced by Christmas 2019, but Corey's been trying to make it so it will be good, and I'm thinking it might fall flat a bit. But we'll see.

I went by Target yesterday and got some stuff for kids that they've requested, and my opinion is that getting one thing they really want is better than a lot of random gifts that they don't want that but we got cause we found a deals. I don't know. Just feels like we have enough cutter and things. We also have enough legos, but I got some more yesterday for Katharine's gifts. I also got Legos for Peter, I got no legos for Daniel cause he said he wanted baggy jeans, so I got two pairs of jeans for him. No toys for Owen either cause he said he wants Utah Utes athletic clothes and Texas longhorn merch. We're gonna see what we can find thrifting. With that I think we're done with stuff for OPDK.

So wrapping gifts didn't really feel like much of a date night, so we're having a redo tonight and are going climbing, after we go by another bargain store by Momentum (Big Deal Outlet) to see if they have anything good. I liked some of the shoes and thought some of them could be ok, but didn't get any. I think cash for the girls will be better, and let them choose the shoes themselves.

I've also been doing a little bit of this and that wedding stuff. I walked around the east neighborhood last night at 6pm for 40 minutes delivering invitations (to save us some postage costs) and I finished up  with the invites to the west neighborhood tonight, 4:30 pm for 50 minutes. I addressed a few more invites tonight of people we had accidentally missed and sent those out.

A few days ago, Corey's car had a transmission problem warning come up. We knew where to take it this time. Thankfully it's still under warranty. It was done today and Abi drove Corey there to pick it up.

We decided to go climbing around 3:30 pm, which was ok cause by that point we didn't have time for a ride cause sunset was at 5:03. I also went bouldering yesterday morning in Millcreek, spent the whole time in the OG sector. I finally got to the top of the purple V3! For our date night redo we went to the Fort Union Momentum at 8pm for some toprope:

  • 1- South wall Pink 5.10c
  • 2- South wall yellow 5.11a 2 rests
  • 3- South wall purple 5.11b 1st 1/3 then purple
  • 4- South wall green 5.11a 1 rest, I think it’s possible
  • 5- SW red 5.10d 2 rests but no cheats yay! Tricky!
  • 6- NW red 2rests no cheats yay
  • 7- NW green 5.10c
  • 8- NE pink 5.10d 1 rest
