Rules for Giving Talks and Church Parking
Corey has been asked to give a talk this upcoming Sunday. When he was asked to speak, they gave him a formal letter which made us smile when we read it - probably just coming from Utah, we laughed thinking of how a letter like this would be received by members there. How do you think it would go over?
The last three points are my favorites, here's the translation (more or less... not sure on the 3rd point):
- For best preparation select and study references for the theme
- Don't read, bring notes as help
- Feel humility in their presence, get rid of pride
- Keep your face toward the congregation
- be direct and frank in your presentation
- Don't call anyone to repentance
- Don't abuse the time
- Don't use vulgar expressions
Much thanks for helping us strengthen our Branch.
:) Isn't that cute?
The Santa Cruz Branch is a very very small branch.
There are 6 parking spots. There are more cars than 6 though. Corey got a spot this week.
I could have gotten his spot cause I arrived first, but I opted to park on the grass (it's a really thick grass ground cover and handles cars parking on it fine.)
I love that! I will remember next time to not call anyone to repentance. :)
