Canoe Ride in Pucón

Another beautiful sunny day in Pucón.

Right now the season here in Chile is fall, and in the fall it's supposed to be rainy in the south, but we had beautiful perfect weather the whole week and, found out when we got back (the whole sleepy group of us standing on the street corner waiting for a cab in the drizzling rain at 6 a.m.) that Santiago got the rain that week.

So in the sunny weather Corey decided to take the kids on a canoe ride.

Hyrum excited, Wesley not so sure, Abi temporarily ignorant of the situation she is in.

She's becoming aware. Wes very nervous, he started to wimper, poor little guy.

Now she understands - You're taking this boat out away from the safety of land into the unstable surface of a deep dark lake!?!?! Daaaad! Are you trying to kill us?!?!

The other kids too young to take the canoe out on their own, they got stuck with a boring overcautious adult.

Hyrum, glad that he's braver than his younger siblings, starts feeling super macho... Danger! Ha! I laugh in the face of danger!

Roar! Thump your chest, Tarzan.

I could see them from our room. Little boats with little dots for their heads.

Abi making sure her life jacket is secure.

Abi "Nooohoho! Hyrum!" She's scared for him that he reached over the edge! Don't touch the water, Hyrum! Monsters will get you!!!

After it was over, the little ones were glad they didn't die and told me they don't like boats. Wesley was afraid of a tsunami getting them. He's a little sensitive, need to remind myself that I can't let him watch the news with Corey and me. Wes does not like tsunamis.
