We're getting into the swing of things, kinda. Summer chores have been going well. Sophi and Natalie are especially rocking it and their room is always clean and today they are on day 139 of their consistent practicing streak. So impressive! I've been slacking thanks to Baby K and have hardly practiced at all these past two weeks. Natalie in the front room reading today. The things on their summer checklist are: Bedroom Clean, Clothes put away, Household Chore, Practice, Read, School Book. And they get up and do it and it's great. Having them each just do one chore makes a big difference in keeping the house clean.
Owen and Daniel need my help but they are doing well too. Owen is always anxious to get things done so he can go play with Evan or Oliver. Here he is playing with Evan yesterday in the back yard - collecting bugs for a potato bug farm.I've been missing Melodie - she has been pet sitting for my sister. They are on a family reunion trip to Yellowstone and left Thursday, so Mel has been over there. She has missed her baby so we dropped off Katharine yesterday for our date night night and went out to eat at India House (our favorite restaurant).
The dogs were excited and barking but K didn't wake up and just slept in her carseat the whole time we were gone. Today we took the little kids over there to play for a bit with the dogs. They liked it, but were also a little afraid of the energetic animals. Peter trying to keep himself above their reach for a bit.
Peter and Daniel liked the cats a bit more, but Sophi and Natalie loved playing with the dogs. It was fun and good for them to be around the animals. We might get a pet someday, but not this year. We've still got our house and hands full for the next few years with children. Katharine staring at Natalie yesterday -
Two more pics of the boys today as I was on the bed nursing Katharine. Owen's front teeth have been super loose lately and look kinda ridiculous. I was happy that I got one of them out this week -
The tooth fairy forgot her job for a few nights, but O forgave her when she finally came through. I want to get that other crooked one out too, but it is holding on super tight and O doesn't appreciate me pulling on it. Here's a picture of D coming to ask me if he can play with friends. I'm not sure why he dresses up in a suit and tie to play with friends, but oh well. I tell him to not get them dirty, and no riding bikes or jumping on the trampoline with his Sunday clothes on, since I won't have time to wash them before church tomorrow.
9 pm and Lily just got back from YW camp - they were at Lake Powell. When they were on their way, she texted that she's felt sick, and some of the girls at camp were sick and exposed to covid, but they were in separate tents, but we had Lily head downstairs to quarantine and she took an at home test as soon as she walked in. It was negative. Abi took one too, cause she's felt a little sick. Hers was also negative. I'm sure she had plenty of chances to catch covid during her trip to Disneyland last week. We're getting Lily tested again at Walgreens tomorrow, cause if she's sick she can't go to the BYU music camp next week. She and Abi are both registered to go, so hopefully she'll still be negative!
