The kids all went to BYU game at Wayne's house tonight. Ethan Bella and Alvie and Mel and Christian went there to watch the game too. What a relief that they won!
Lily took kids over there and then she came back home so I could have the van and go to the temple. With my Tuesday mornings at 5am option gone until December 7th, I'm settling in on Saturday evenings as when I think I can commit to go. It will work good for me. So I went to the temple and then listened to the end of the 4th quarter on the drive home. Yay, that was a nailbiter, but cool! Everyone was saying this was a huge game, so good job BYU for winning it.
This morning, Corey and I went to go to exercise together. On the drive there Corey made me laugh when I mention a friend who, I saw on facebook, is doing the 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents and how, to me, that doesn't sound fun. Corey said "Well, at least they’re changing the world." haha but are they?? He said "People are counting on this! They need it done!" I want things I do to matter for the world. Maybe there are some people that are inspired to see people run 7 marathons in 7 days, but I think, for me, there are better things to do with my time and money, that would also be more fulfilling. I don't think I'd be fulfilled by giving so much time to something like that. But that's me. Each of us need to do what we feel we need to do, so get that spiritual revelation connection right, cause the only one we have to answer to is to God.
At the gym, we both did some upper body together, then I went to do kettlebell stuff on the ice rink balcony. I wanted Corey to come try a few things, and after he was done he came in before going for a swim while I went in the sauna, but as we were doing a few kettlebell things, like barely into the 1st round, he was losing interest, and then Lily called to ask about taking the car, I said yes, and then Corey wanted to be done and said he wanted to go home. We drove here together, so.. that meant I had to be done too. I was pretty bugged by that, and he said I could stay and he'd come back to pick me up, but I said it was fine, I'll finish at home, BUT I'm not answering the phone next time. That was stupid. At home, he made breakfast, and I spent the next hour doing stuff in our bedroom until I got my fill: halos and helicopters, four 2 min wall sits (to help prevent high blood pressure) stretching and L sit practice. Then I was good and was also not mad anymore. I'll hit the sauna next week.
Last night/evening I did a 2 mile walk at Lisa and south of Techy. As Corey and I were texting about what time date night would be, I nonchalantly told him could work late, aka 7:30, aka 45 min past sunset, which was strategic on my part knowing if we went then, I'd be able to get in a fall sunset walk in the mountains and he'd be none the wiser. (Sometimes if he knows I'm gone, he gets anxious about the kids having help or a professional nagger for them to get their stuff done, and he'll come home earlier than he'd like to be that person. But I was able to leave and he didn't come home, the kids were fine, and Corey was good too cause he got more of his stuff done. I got dressed quickly and we went out to eat at the India House.
Corey took the kids downtown after breakfast today to spend some quality time with him before he leaves next week, and to try and find a gift to take to his friend in Korea. He took all the kids with him and it was nice to have a quiet home. I worked hard cleaning while he was gone, and when he got back, he went to his dad's to get work done, cause he also needs to do that before he leaves. I was stuck home without a car (Lily had the van at work) so I cleaned until 5:30, then I escaped on a ride, cause I had a chance. My bike is my only way to leave. I may be carless, but I can ride! Sometimes it's good for me to be trapped here, so I actually do some housework, and I felt justified in leaving cause I had done my time cleaning today. And true I had also already worked out, but you gotta take these chances while you have them, and I didn't get in a ride yesterday, only a hike, so it's ok. I had picked up the front room before the football game started. At that time I also got on Natalie's case over the mess that was still in their from her fashion show last night - sheets, shoes, blankets, tape on the wall... I told her good job for taking the tables back downstairs this morning but she wasn't done yet. I'm trying to resist finishing it for her. I just shoved it into the music/toy room. That's kinda how things go around here: shove it into a different place when you're trying to clean one place. Lily's room is just a big pile inside and outside, but she can't clean it cause she has to finish her BYU online AP World class to re-do a bad grade. So we're just tolerating the mess. I probably tolerate too many messes...
