It was a good Saturday. Corey and I went to Bandit's last night for our date and had a good talk, mostly about the Mars and Venus points system, which really isn't a system, it's all arbitrary and all in the woman's head! Corey feels like that's a bit unfair, and I agree, but it's just how it is. He gets points based on how I feel. I told him it's totally ok for him to tell me all the stuff he's done, rather than hoping I notice. "Boy, I just played with all the boys in the backyard for 30 minutes!" It's also ok if he wants to come right in front of me and sweep the floor or if I'm sitting and reading, to come and vacuum in front of me. I'm trying to communicate and let him know things that win or lose him points, as I figure it out myself. So when he makes crepes on a Sunday morning, that loses points in my head, cause I feel more stressed cause I'm trying to get us out the door to church when all of a sudden kids want to sit down and enjoy food and will get syrup-y sticky messes all over their hands and clothes and we'll likely be late, hence the low score. Arriving to church on time gets a point. He said that usually he's late cause he's waiting for Lily, so I will cancel the negative point for that, cause that's a good thing. Today Corey did work in the backyard - he winterized the snow blower and organized the shed. Point. I took O and D to soccer. Owen's game was at 9, Daniel's at 10.

Sneak Away
Our coach has two boys, Nolan and Branson, that are Owen and Daniel's ages. During Owen and Nolan's game, the coach's toddlers played with Daniel! They LOVE Daniel!
Then Corey took L to GMS cause she missed the bus. Abi didn't drive them in cause Abi is sick, She missed GMS last night too. Abi and Lily had Chamberpalooza today, but with Abi being sick, they didn't go. Abi never threw up.
I was in touch with Joseph today giving advice on chocolates and ring size as he ran to different stores to try and put a kind of spur of the marriage moment proposal together. (Another wedding!??!!) Chocolate and flowers will be part of his plan, and a fake diamond ring from Hobby Lobby. He said that when he took the ring and a little ring box to check out, the lady behind the counter saw it, she paused and gave him a "shame on you" look and asked "Is this a joke??" He defended himself "No! I am proposing but I don't have the ring yet!" and then she was excited for him and voiced her approval. He thought that was funny. Hyrum went down to sleep over with Ethan tonight (H is feeling mostly better) I think he and Mel, Ethan, and Bella will all be helping with the plan. tee-he-he.
Update on the rest of the sick kids around here - Peter threw up yesterday after playign at a friend's house. He had a birthday party to go to but ended up cancelling cause I didn't want to risk spreading the bug to other kids.
Natalie went to a Violin Spring Group Concert tongith out at Juan Diego High, from 6-7. Sophi didn't go cause she is sick - threw up yesterday morning at 3am. Natalie is feeling better. She threw up Thursday and stayed home from school Thurs and yesterday. Feeling better today so that means she gets to go to the spring concert. I texted their teacher about S being sick and she said for sure don't come cause they didn't want a repeat of last year. I remember that now - a little girl threw up at the spring concert last year which I guess I hardly noticed since I didn't say anything about it. I dropped Natalie off at 5, I thought that's what time they had to be there, but she was bored and stuck instead. I was able to got o Costco though. No one has thrown up yet today! so that's good.
7pm we headed home. And after a day of both Corey and I being dutiful, I gave him my blessing to go to his dad's to work. I had older kids at home - Abi took K on a bike ride at 8...
And that made me seize my opportunity to sneak away by myself to Momentum. I deserve it with all the sick care I've been doing around here. I was surprised when Corey showed up there to confront me for climbing when I should be taking care of our sick children! Don't I need to be more responsible? He would like to exercise too, but don't we have obligations?? He teased "So you gonna just leave me in the rest home when we're older?!?!" I might... if you're sick and I've done a lot to take care of you, I am more than ok with calling it good and giving myself a little personal time. We have to make self care a priority, especially when things are nuts and busy and demanding and kids are sick. I'm gonna fight for it, and I was glad he joined me. We bouldered a few: I did 9: 2 V4s - white one on south boulder, 2 V3 sends - Black and Red, 3 V2 sends and 2 V1s, and then we belayed each other on top rope, he did 3, I did three in this order: Green 5.10c, front TR Sector - I think I might have put one foot on a different color, I couldn't tell from on top, it was a good hard climb! Then the Black 5.10b - Back TR Sector - good, I've done that one before with Lily on March 29. then the purple 5.10a - Back TR Sector - also did this one before with Lily. I like climbing. I need it for my mental health.
