Pineview & Home

Hello, Corey and I had a long ride at Corner Canyon this morning, and we went over and explored the other side of the mountain for the first time! We went with a friend Robb and he's done the south side, so it was good to have someone to show us the way. We did Ann's west, which we've done before, but then we went up Maple Hollow, and that was really pretty! I loved it. At the top we took Eagle Crest for a bit until we got to Vertigo, and we took that down, it was nice and flowy and really fun. Then another climb back to Peakview then down Rush. It was really good, and we got our workout in before Corey left for the weekend. The girls were calling a few times as we were gone, asking about when we were going, so they got everyone ready, so they left at 10:45 (we got back at 10.) Ethan and Bella drove up this afternoon too. So he is up at Pineview with Mel, Abi, Sophi, Natalie, Owen, Daniel and Peter. I'm here at home at the moment with Lily and Katharine. A few reasons why I bowed out of the gathering today: 1) Been there, done that, it's nice but I knew what it was about and didn't really want to go and sit around all day watching kids. 2) I wanted to clean, read, and blog, I have so much to catch up on here on the blog, aahhhh! 3) Lily and I are fasting (for Wes) so we didn't want to be around food, which is very easy here at home with just Katharine right now! and because 4) they'd all be able to fit in one car CMASNODP if three of us TLK stayed home. So I do not mind at all missing out. Corey texted me this afternoon saying "It's really pretty up here! You sure you don't want to come up?" and I was vacuuming under the couch cushions at that time, wondering why it was that I'd rather be vacuuming up crumbs under the cushions than playing in the water, but I honestly did prefer being her and didn't want to go up at all, not totally sure why, so I just didn't reply to that, other than asking him what time he's planning on coming home tomorrow. I'm glad they are having fun though.

Looks like there is more of a beach this year, so that's good. Ethan and Bella are up there too, so that is fun for our little kids to have time with them and Mel.
Pretty sunset for them tonight.
Lily and I have done good cleaning, mostly just on the main floor. We'll hopefully attack the basement a little bit tomorrow. Lily commented on how much less there is to clean when we fast - we loaded the dishwasher and that was it until they all come back, easy! And without anyone eating, there are no crumbs being spread through out the house to be swept and vacuumed up. And since we aren't eating, we can go be productive! I've done a 4 day water fast before, Lily and I will probably go until Sunday, so yeah I hope it's a nice productive weekend for the two of us. :) I'm probably going to go to bed at the regular 10:30 time, although I'm tempted to stay up and try to blog a lot, but I do want to still get up in the morning to go on a walk or ride, so maybe I'll go to bed? I guess I'll see how I feel in an hour.

Oh, and of course I spent some time looking for monarch eggs. As I was washing the dishes, I saw a monarch out the window! So I hurried out to say hello. This is the first monarch I've seen flying around our yard this year!

This girl was so cute! And I kept my eye on her so I knew about which leaves she was laying her eggs on. It flew up right next to me, I felt one with nature.

Fly little butterfly!
