By a Thread

I stayed in bed most of today with rice bags on my head. Wayne came over for dinner but I wasn't there for most of it. I did come down near the end and found the kids playing Park City Monopoly with him.  They started at 4 and played until past 9 pm! FIVE HOURS of Monopoly! Wow. The game was getting pretty intense cause Sophi had some red properties with hotels on them that everyone kept landing on, so Sophi was getting rich and everyone else was getting poor.

Hyrum had Deer Valley with some hotels but no one landed it on, it was funny - they'd like always land right between the two properties.
Then they would all help each other out and be nice, that's how the game kept going on forever. Here's a video of a few minutes of their game. If they'd played by the rules they would have been bankrupt a lot earlier. Owen did a good job holding his own, it was cute.

Today is fast Sunday. Corey and I started yesterday around 2 and we are still fasting. We probably going to go until tomorrow when Corey has a meeting with Brent. We are wrestling with the Lord pleading for a blessing. I've been thinking about Jacob in Genesis 32:26 "I will not let thee go, except thou bless me." We need his help in many ways. I liked this article I read today by Jon Bloom - I Will Not Let You Go Unless You Bless Me. Probably the smallest thing we're praying for is to get Corey's car back. They haven't called us once over this past month. This past Friday makes it over five weeks since we left our car there. So frustrating. Sure, I know transmissions are tricky, and it would take me forever to fix it, but this is what they supposedly specialize in, so shouldn't they know what they're doing? I've expressed our dissatisfaction via a 1 star review. Corey's going to write one too but he's waiting until after we get it back. Crazy. I thought it was possible they wouldn't have it ready for us before Florida, but I never would have thought they STILL wouldn't have it done after we were back!

We're super grateful we have Eliza's car. We'd be in a world of hurt right not without it. I shared my testimony in church. I shared a thought Corey shared this last week, about how all life on earth was hanging by the thread of Christ completing his mission, but we had faith in him - he would come through, and he did. America's destiny was hanging by a thread during the revolution, Israel's destiny was hanging by a thread when baby Moses was spared by being sent into the water, etc etc. There are many examples, and that lets us know that God can work with by just a thread. He DOES work that way most of the time! So when life is hanging by a thread (like ours seems to be right now in some ways) we can take comfort, cause that's how God works! He's the God of the Impossible. And to quote Dallas Jenkins, God does impossible math

Speaking of thread, while Owen is into football, our little Daniel is currently into sewing. Mel made this shirt for Teddy, and today Daniel carried around a spool of red thread and a needle and sewed Teddy's name on it. "Daniel Heart Teddy"

Cute. He did a good job.
