Drive to Bear Lake

Hello. We have arrived safely up at Bear Lake for the Hibbert reunion. I drove Corey's car, which still does not have air conditioning, so it got a bit hot. I left home at 2:43 with ASNODPK.

We kept the windows down, so it was bearable. They fell asleep pretty quickly - 30 minutes in:

Everyone nice and comphy?

It was uneventful except when the kids started screaming when a hornet flew in through the window as we were on the freeway near Coalville. Scared me as I was driving when they all freaked out. I told them they can't do that. We listened to the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack for most of the drive.

We arrived at 5:14 at Laketown. Corey had given Sophi $20 for us to get ice cream after our hot drive in his car. We got Blue Bunny caramel ice cream drumsticks at Laketown and were there for 17 minutes, then onto the cabin. Ethan Bella & Alive were already there when we arrived. They got here last night 9:09 pm. Boys playing video games ~

Ethan and Bella headed up here after he finished his last day teaching at the MTC. His last day, July 15, was 5 years to the day that he was set apart as a missionary. 2 years as a missionary and 3 years teaching at the MTC followed. That's a lot of service to gathering Israel! He gave some of his lessons to our kids when he was home visiting. He has a natural gift to be a teacher, he's very engaging, much like Corey is when he shares stories. Good job Ethan. He's working on a book of all the things he's learned as a missionary and from the MTC that he can still share with missionaries even though he's not in a teaching capacity anymore.

Before we left SL this morning, I got my exercise in with a ride to the ruins at 6am, then after I got back I headed straight to bouldering for 57 minutes, aiming to get back before Corey got home from his ride (we passed each other on the road as he started his ride.) My thought today at the ruins: How is God able to make two very plain items, rocks and water, look so beautiful and amazing!?!!?!?

It's beautiful.

I also found 4 butterfly eggs this morning and also on one leaf I could tell a little patch had been eaten from the leaf, but there was no caterpillar. I must have missed him and a spider got him.

We found 3 more eggs on our way out, after Owen saw a monarch landing on our milkweed in the corner of the backyard by the AC units. I told Terry about it. She's going to come search for eggs tomorrow and the rest of the month while we are busy gone at reunions.
