Granite Skate Night

This morning I went on a walk, today I blogged and cleaned, and tonight was a "free admission" night for Granite Elementary kids at Classic Skating. Abi was a dear and went in with Daniel and Katharine while I ran a shoe errand with Sophi. They played Golden from KPop Demon Hunters. Katharine liked that.

Abi said that Daniel was dancing his heart out to the Just Dance videos. He was also the center of attention in the middle of the skating rink as he led all the kids in the chicken dance.

This skate night was not on my radar at all. I didn't know until the kids got home from school and said they wanted to go. I told them I had already told Sophi I'd take her to get shoes. I also said we would not be getting the upgrade for the jungle area, only the skating. I thought that would discourage them but Daniel accepted. So Abi helped save that situation with her willingness to go. She had to babysit at 8, so I told Daniel this would still probably be quick. They could be there while I took Sophi to the mall, then I'd get them on our way back. I said that, per chance there was a friend or neighbor there as well, I was ok for him to stay and get a ride home with them. They took in a scooter for Kat, and Daniel wore his rollerblades. Abi was nice to take pics for me. Sophi and I went to South town mall. Footlocker, didn't have the Adidas ones she wanted. She wanted "campus" style. Next famous foot wear - no luck there. Last to Journey's. They had them. She wanted them. We made sure of the size she needed. I found some I liked too - blue adidas. Then I looked up prices online. Her style and size were on sale online at Footlocker, mine were not. So we bought mine, cause it was the same price, either way. Hers are ordered and would be here 5-7 business days. She was sad to not walk out with them, but hey, I'm paying and that's $40 bucks I get to save. I said she could keep mine as hostage until her's arrive. She was excited about that and what she'd wear tomorrow. But then I looked online more at home, and I found mine on sale too. So I took them back and said I'm returning these. Just to be fair to her, now we both get to wait for them to be shipped. Plus with the $40 bucks I saved on mine, I got some red sambas for $40! Yay, 2 pairs of adidas for the price of 1.

We got home at 7, Natalie & Peter had stayed home working on his Lexia level while they watched the House, Lily was at the GTI Open house and Corey picked her up from there. We made Orange chicken for dinner, and sugar cookies for dessert that Abi made earlier this afternoon. K was excited about pink cookies!

Waiting to lick the spatula and quote Bluey: "At last you are mine!"

And I've been up here blogging, and I am pleased to announce I have finished August. I'm on a roll. I hope I stay in the blogging zone and am able to finish up Sep quickly, then Oct Nov Dec. I'm behind on all of them, but I'm doing good staying current with January so far!
