Ride for Date Night

Corey and I did an early date tonight and did a ride at Snowbird up the Big Mountain Trail. Ahh! I love fall.

It was pretty cloudy as we were driving up, and the clouds were ominous looking, but we kept checking our weather app and it did not show rain in the forecast. So we got on our bikes and headed up. It was pretty. Enjoying the last few days of fall colors! There is still lots of yellow. 

I kept checking the app as the wind was blowing in. Soon it was sprinkling. Checked the app, it says it's not raining, so, keep going? We made it a little past the Mid-Gad lift and then a big clap of thunder made us stop and turn around. We were in a bit of a downpour of rain and hail on the way down and got real muddy. Lesson: Sometimes use your own eyes and brain to decide about the weather and things,  and not just an app! We made it down safely, yet chilly, dirty, and wet. Still I'm glad we went. I want to be out in the autumn mountains while we can be. 1 hour 18 min. Then we went out to eat. Sophi and Natalie were our babysitters. Abi and Lily were gone at the high school football game. Peter made a lego of him and Wesley. 

They are hockey brothers. 

Peter is excited that Wes is coming home soon! 95 days!! Also Hyrum is here this weekend for General Conference, but tonight he was gone at his mission's reunion. He sent me a message tonight of an epic game that he and Natalie were playing with Katharine last night. Their princess game started before scriptures, and then K fell asleep during scriptures, but they woke her up so they could "finish" the game, even though it ended up going for two more hours, well past midnight (I'm gonna guess they'll fall asleep during General Conference tomorrow...)

I stayed up with them for about 45 minutes and observed the game as a spectator with Sophi. We found it quite entertaining. We were enjoyed it and I took six videos! Part 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 and 6.

I ended up going to bed, but Hyrum sent me a message on his ride to his mission reunion tonight about all the drama I missed out on. The game started as "Robin Hood and Cinderella". Hyrum was Robin Hood, Katharine was Cinderella. Now quoting Hyrum: "They fought a bunch of bad guys, fell in love, got married. They had a couple battles, but then Prince Charming comes along from out of the bin, and Cinderella suddenly doesn't want Robin Hood anymore and leaves him, even though they've been married. So she leaves Robin Hood, Robin Hood's heart broken, a couple other princesses are introduced as well in the story. And then there's Prince Adam. Prince Adam is seeking a bride and no one really wants to date him. He first sees Cinderella, and seeks her hand. He invites her on a date, at his palace for dinner, and she brings Prince Charming, which is kinda awkward. So they have dinner, Cinderella doesn't want to date him and he's sad, so he goes to other princesses and seeks their hand in marriage, everyone rejects him. Actually sometimes they'd would say yes (Katharine would say yes) and then she'd change her mind, and Adam was heartbroken. There was one time when he had Belle over for dinner, and they started dancing, and Katharine grabbed the knight, who was supposed to be his security, his guard, and just rides the horse on his head and injures him. So then he invites Belle on another date, but she doesn't want to marry him either. Eventually Prince Adam sees Prince Charming, and he's got a carriage full of princesses, all these eligible bachelorettes, and thinks (this is Prince Adam talking now): "Prince Charming, this is ridiculous... FIRST OFF you're already married to Cinderella who is also married to Robin Hood!!" And don't forget she just left Robin Hood as if he meant nothing to her once she met Prince Charming. So Prince Adam challenges him to a duel cause he has all the girls that he's tried to court in his carriage. They have a duel, Prince Adam slays Prince Charming and wins, and then he goes to select a bride. He first chooses Belle, she says no, he asks Cinderella and she agrees! So that's Cinderella's THIRD HUSBAND! Their relationship lasts about 30 seconds, cause then Prince Charming comes back alive. So she leaves Price Adam to go be with Prince Charming again, but now Prince Charming is also heart broken since she remarried so quickly. He'd only been dead for 10 minutes. Then Cinderella kills Prince Adam. She has a necklace that has supernatural powers, she can turn her necklace into a sword, and it was an instant kill on anybody. So she becomes an enemy to the kingdom, an enemy to the throne. Prince Adams mother, the Queen, seeks revenge. Prince Charming and Cinderella hide, they are fugitives in the woods" haha Hyrum said it was funny cause Katharine saw Hyrum and Natalie (the Queen) as the bad guys and she was hiding. So now Hyrum was Prince Max, Prince Adam's brother. The Queen had another son named Theodore. Hyrum said Prince Charming and Cinderella wanted a child, but there was only one baby in the game to use, so they were infertile but ended up stealing the Queen's newborn prince cause they wanted a baby, which makes her even more of an enemy to the throne." (Hyrum and Natalie were loving this game by the way, if you couldn't tell. They were very invested. The fact that Hyrum could tell me all these details is evidence of that. I'm not even half way through the message he left, haha. Shall I keep transcribing?) "She stole Theodore. The guards are searching for her. Every once in a while she'll break in, like she used to when she used to invite herself over for dinner. She'll break into the kingdom and when the guards go after her, she'll kill anyone who crosses her. Overtime, she's taken out half the kingdom, the palace starts to fall apart, anarchy ensues as Cinderella kills all the law enforcement. She also paralyzed Prince Max when they cross paths. The Queen re-adopts a baby from the orphanage as their efforts to find Prince Theodore have failed. She adopts Simon to be the new heir (the queen doesn't like Prince Max, but Prince Max is insulted since Simon doesn't have any royal blood). The game ended with the queen now taking care of her paralyzed son Prince Max and her adopted baby Simon and Cinderella and Prince Charming having taken over the kingdom. In Katharine's eyes they are the good guys restoring order. She also killed Robin Hood at the end." What a story! Today they played a little bit more again. Prince Charming and Cinderella are the new rulers. It was pretty fun to watch and I'm glad they play with Katharine. Natalie is such a good sister and Hyrum is an awesome brother. He's going to be such a good dad.
