Hyrum is 21!

Happy Birthday to Hyrum! In an attempt to follow Wayne's example, I took Hyrum out to lunch instead of getting him a gift. (Maybe I should do both lunch and a present? I'm experimenting here... sorry that you are my guinea pig, Hyrum). We went Aubergine. Healthy food. He let me choose the restaurant, but he is a healthy guy so he didn't mind the plant based options.

I love Aubergine. We ended the meal with some nice cream.

Happy Birthday Hyrum. It was nice to spend some one on one time visiting with you.

Back at home, the b-day party continued by my granting permission to paly the Wii. But only because it's Hyrum's birthday.

Hyrum went over and helped my mom with some work at her house, and she gave him some money and a gift over there, but since she knows he's a health conscious guy, she didn't bring over a cake. The kids could tell that something was missing from the birthday festitivies, but you little ones need to remember that adult birthdays don't have all the same stuff that kid birthdays have. Sometimes we don't have cake. Hyrum, do you want cake? He was good without it. So see, there ya go. It's still a birthday, so pay the Wii and I'm going to go outside for some personal time. I layed on the grass for some grounding/rest (suggested from one of the books I'm reading, this was a free one I was sent). Abi was looking for me and found me and took a photo.

She actually took two, but I won't share the close up that she took, cause I looked dead. Laying on the ground is just a different level of deep sleep. I highly recommend it. Peter at a b-day part for a friend, Zach, making some kind of glue mystery toy.

K at home, trying to pop a balloon with her teeth.

Dinner tonight. Daniel wearing a hat he knit.

Funny kid. Corey's bike still in the shop, so I was on my own for exercise this morning. I drove up LCC and did 4 laps on techy. 3 miles, 38 min moving time. I got Lisa every time, and all of techy 3 times! On my first lap, there was a downed tree across the path, so I spent like 25 minutes gathering rocks to try and make a feature up over the log. It works ok, only it was on a corner though, so you have to make a pretty sharp turn right as you get over it. I'm not sure how much I like it. Hopefully someone will come along with a saw to move the tree. Got a silver on the cool way loop: .77 in 7:30. There were big gusts of wind this morning, and thus on my drive down the canyon, there was a tree in the road that had just been blown over. I'm glad it didn't land on me or anyone else. I was the first car at the scene. Soon there were others on the opposite side of the road. We got out and assessed the situation. I jokingly flexed my arms to communicate to the people on the other side that we were strong and could move it. We moved the small branches, one guy said he had a chain that he could attach to his truck to move it.

As we all worked, we tried to push it and we realized that there were enough of us that we could lift/push it/turn it parallel on the side of the road. We did it pretty quickly! We all united and came together and solved the problem before us without UDOT or a tow truck or anything. Hooray for humans!

Took us like 5-7 minutes to arrive and asses and then fix the problem. We congratulated ourselves and then all went on our way. I felt great after! wanted to smile and hug everyone. I think obstacles to overcome and unite us are just what this world needs!

Katharine asleep on the floor this morning. I don't think she started in a bed last night. She must have fallen asleep playing.

Silly girl.

Peter proud of the lego he made today. He wanted me to take a pic to show Wesley.

And I did Katharine's hair today. Cute little girl.

Feeling fancy and special.

Good day. Tomorrow is the last day of "summer" with everyone here. We'll try to do something special.
