Class Parties

The busy school part of the month of December is now done. The elementary kids had parties at school today, so the calendar year ended there in a fun way for them. Peter all ready for his pajama party -

Owen and Daniel had parties too. As they headed off to the bus stop this morning, Katharine was busy playing with the cupcake wrappers that Lily bought recently for her baking endeavors.

So many pretty colors! So interesting to pull the little papers apart!
And so fun to see them all spread out, like a little garden of blooming flowers.
So Katharine kept herself entertained with that. And when she was done, she stacked them all up and ate a snack in her tower of cupcake wrappers. She's a cute girl and creative girl.
Katharine and I had a typical morning at home until we had to go pick up Sophi Natalie and Owen for a service concert. Owen was bummed to have to leave his party, but I took him back after to catch the last of the fun. The concert was in Murray and Sophi & Natalie's violin school was doing it with Owen's trumpet school.

Getting them there brought me to the edge of tears. I told Corey that next year I might need to say no to these service concerts. But they kids did a really great job and all the elderly really seemed to enjoy it, so it was good. Bad thing was that it was right at lunch time, so all the kids missed lunch at school, BUT surprise surprise, the care facility had some "to-go" meals set for all the performers to take at the end, which was SO NICE. It was a nice entree and a dessert, with the added bonus that it stopped Natalie from nagging me to buy her food on the way home. We took Owen straight back to school and I didn't make Sophi and Natalie go back, and with that, we are done for 2024. Abi and Sophi both went to gift exchange parties at friends houses tonight, and Corey and I went on a date to Aubergine, which is still our current favorite restaurant.

I think that's about it for today. Oh, I almost forgot, the upstairs furnace stopped working sometime this morning. I noticed it felt a little cold when I came up after breakfast. I looked and it was set at 69 but it was 65 degrees. I called Eldon Taylor and thankfully they had an opening today. They came and got it working, there is still something that needs to be replaced, I told them that we're heading out of town on Monday, so we're ok to wait until after we get back on Jan 2nd.
