Abi's Dr Appointment

Abi is working on her mission papers. I kicked things in gear and scheduled her a dentist appointment and a doctor appointment. The dentist is able to see Abi next week - we're going to go at 9am before Wesley plane arrives around noon. I'm trusting that time is ok and will work. The doctor's office was able to get us in right away and we went there today. Abi was more than a little terrified when they told her she had to get some shots. She was grateful that she hadn't realized that would be happening until we were there, or else it would have ruined her whole day. She sat there crying and considering her options.

I texted Wride Nation to ask her siblings to support her with their prayers. She had to get a finger prick for something, an little insert of something under her skin to see if she gets a rash or allergic reaction from it, and TWO SHOTS. They did the other parts of the physical and we waited until the very end for the shots. Dr. Schmidt giving encouraging words.
At 4:30 they came in, I stood up and held her as she lay down, and I am pleased to report that not only did she survive the ordeal, but she DID NOT FAINT!! Oh yeah, go Abi!
She cried during it but smiled when it was over. To make her feel better, the two of us went shopping. I got her an early christmas present - some UGG-like shoes. I looked at some adidas. I'm in the market for soccer-ish shoes.
These ones were cute. $74.96. "And here are some shoes I once thought about buying..." - Lachlan Patterson
I also went on a ride to the ruins again today, cause I'm excited about collecting all the local legend segments. The temperature was AMAZING again - 62 degrees, wow. It was 52 at the ruins, perfection. I got to the ruins in 1:03:37, not bad. The local legends I got today were for the "fastest section alive" women, red church to wasatch all, and climb to the pipe with 24 efforts. Oh yeah. The wind has been crazy the past week. Today there was a hug tree that got blown over and fell onto the path.

Trees that fall are one way that new features are created. And in the spring when the water is high and gets on the trail and erodes things away. Got back from that, got myself clean, and then we went to her appointment at 4pm. Back at home, K was playing in the cleaned out the pantry. I'm not turning it into a reading room, just thought I'd give it a complete clear out and wipe down.

Corey delegated Christmas plans to Natalie, and sent me a text saying that this is what she's thinking (thanks to some help from pintrest):

  • DINNER: Rolls
  • Salad by us
  • Fruit salad
  • Pork
  • Potatoes
  • Candy cane charcuterie board
  • Grinch chip dip
  • Desert
  • Hot chocolate
  • Reindeer cake pops
  • Strawberry Santa's
  • ACTIVITIES: Karaoke
  • Reindeer marshmallows paws game
  • Unwrap a kiss with toothpick
  • Cup staking
  • Marshmallow flicking game

My reply - "sounds like a bit much." Corey or Natalie: "Ok what if we got rid of the candy cane charcuterie board" Me: We’re having a big meal on Christmas Day ham and potatoes so let’s do something easier, lighter, more simple aka not as big of a dinner on Christmas Eve, Can we do Christmas chili? Corey/Natalie: Ok

I'm so boring. Oh well. It's not like the kids don't have a ton of fun though. Tonight they all went with Mel and Christian family, who had some extra tickets, to Christmas in Color

Corey and I didn't want to go, so we didn't, and are guilt free about it. I'm glad Mel took them though. I don't mind the kids having some fun memorable moments without us. I'm glad they all have each other.

And soon we'll all be together again cause Wesley gets home in ONE WEEK! Yay yay yay!
