Yay, a Monday during winter break, ahhh. It's so nice not having a kid school routine in the morning. I woke up and went climbing at Millcreek and was able to take my time. I used the sauna, then climbed then used the sauna again. I also did a ride at 3:45pm, just to Lisa and back (got 2 more local legends, woot). It's been a nice day just checking things off and getting things done to make the time pass quickly, cause once we go to bed, then it will be tomorrow, and tomorrow Wesley comes home!!! We're so excited. Ethan and Bella were in Colorado for Christmas but they arrived here last night and are sticking around for when we go see Wes tomorrow so we have a full house and tomorrow EVERYONE will be here! The girls have loved having time with the babies ~
I went to Costco for food while they did that, so we have enough to feed everyone tomorrow. I took K with me to the store and we're stocked up now with Turkey pesto and swiss pockets for lunch tomorrow, plus a veggie tray, tuna salad and chips. Then for dinner tomorrow I'm planning on Rice bowls, orange chicken, edamame, & veggies. I've got spaghetti and meatballs on hand for Thurs before we go up to the cabin for New Years Eve. I'll take sweet potatoes and kimchi with almond sauce as my contribution at the cabin. After Wes gets home, we'll come straight back home, not go out to eat, cause the Stake President is coming by at 2:30 to release Wes from his call.
After I got home from Costco, it was so nice cause the kitchen was clean, the kids fed (thank you Bella and Eliza!) they had made a ginger bread candy house that Bella brought for Christmas.
Ethan and Bella arrived with other gifts for the kids last night. They gave Katharine a teddy bear.
And the rest of the gifts were very unique. For example, Joseph got a poop pen, Abi got a yodeling pickle, and Hyrum some light saber chop sticks.
Before we knew it, Alive and Mary were having a jedi battle in the front room. I connected my phone to the Bose and played Duel of the Fates while Ethan or Bella recorded a video, which I'll need to get from them. Not a great pic below, but trust me, something epic was happening.
I made corsages today. I don't totally love them, but they'll be alright. Mel ordered some different fake eucalyptus leaves that she wants me to use that are more dark green instead of the bright green ones I used, so I'll switch those out after they arrive. We'll either get beads or ribbon to make them wearable on the wrists.
One other thing from yesterday - Daniel and I sang together at church. After we sang Pie Jesu for the Sons of Utah Pioneers thing, the lady in charge of music for our ward was there, and she had already talked to Corey about Daniel singing it for church, but then when I joined him for the SUP thing, she asked if I wanted to join him singing at church. I said sure. There were a few recordings of the song (Corey took a video and my friend Terry recorded the audio), but I'm not going to share them. People said it was good and beautiful, I felt it was good until I heard the recording. I hope it really was ok, it was my best effort, so we'll leave it at that and pray people heard what they needed to hear and what might bless them.
