I knew today was going to be a busy day. Wes said he could help and take Daniel to his last soccer game at 9am. Then I texted Corey the plan for the rest of the day.
- 9-11 Exercise
- 11:30-12:30 ready for day
- 12:30 leave for Owens trumpet recital, Wes take Peter to his game 12:45
- 1:00 Recital
- 1:25 leave for Owen’s soccer Game
- 1:45 wes come home
- 2:00 Owen’s game, Abi leaves with van for life guard training
- 3:15 I take D to bday party
- 3:30 Exercise or clean
I really wanted to clean up the back yard, cause we only have today and next Saturday before bulk clean up, and cause today was the last Saturday with Wes here to help, but alas, we didn't get to it today with all the other stuff going on - I was busy running kids around and Corey was working as usual. Hopefully next week, though Corey and I will need to get the crew moving on our own without Wesley's help. Corey and I were able to go on a hike though! We drove up to the Lisa parking lot and went on a hike from Lisa to Tanners and back. It was overcast and windy, but it was nice. Then Wes took Peter at 12:45 to his last soccer game, and he took Katharine with him which was very nice, and I took Owen and Daniel to Owen's trumpet recital at 1, then OD and I went straight to O's last soccer game at 2.
Owen's team was undefeated 7-0 but they lost this last game today, so that was a little hard for Owen. I took Daniel with me to the recital and game so that I could take him straight to a bday party in Draper at Boondocks after Owen's game was over. Owen's game was 2-3, the party was at 3:30, so that all worked out well logistically, but I'll be glad when Maycember is over!
Back at home we started to clean a little bit, then I went to help Jersh at 7:30. Yesterday I took a 6am ride to ruins. When I was up at 5:30, I heard some violin playing going on. Natalie was awake and practicing so she could hang out with friends after school.
Well, good job. We are working on following through with the kids on their tasks and responsibilities, so I'm glad she was taking it seriously yesterday after our conversation Thurs night. I guess when I know I've got a lot to do and a busy day ahead of me, I'm less willing to help them with their last minute desires. But I did let her go hang with friends.
The weather has been warm this past week, so yesterday on my ride the creek water was very high - I enjoyed seeing the loud and rushing white water -
"His voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters..." - D&C 110:3, a statement recorded by Joseph Smith regarding the appearance of Jesus Christ in the Kirtland Temple in Ohio on April 3, 1836 (and quoted in the Living Christ) :)
Other things from yesterday - I forgot about sourdough in the oven (happens quite a bit) and I had one very overdone loaf. I did Costco errands yesterday. It would be nice to buy a new playset and get our very splintery one taken apart and put out with the bulk clean up. Boys were invited to go swim in a neighbor's pool. Peter in the floating chair, living his best life.
Last night we went out to eat at for date night at Oakwood Fire Kitchen. I had thought we should dress up in our 1992 Jr Prom outfits (Mel bought a replica of my dress in 2025) since it was our 34th jr prom anniversary, but I wasn't brave enough to go out in public wearing it. Some other year perhaps.
