Michael with Kids & My Roses Are Gone

We took the kids to see the Michael movie tonight. We got row C, seats 1 through 17.

Only $5.75 for dollar Tuesday. It was fun, I think they all enjoyed it. We took a group photo after.

Since Daniel and Peter were not in that pic for some reason, here is one with them that we took as we were walking in. They want to go see the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda movie next.

Katharine gave herself patterns today.

She's so cute.

So it's late but I wanted to finish the report for yesterday and today - Corey and I took a morning ride to the ruins yesterday. I don't think we've done a morning ride since last fall. Usually we need to take carpool on Monday mornings, but another lady in carpool swapped me days, so we took last Tuesday for her and she said she could take today. So yay we have a free morning! Corey and I left at 7am and gave Wesley instructions to get the boys out the door.

It's so nice having the older kids at home to help. Abi on her "b" days and it has been so great having Wesley at home these past few weeks. We have him for one more week before he begins FSY training next Tuesday. He helped rescue the basement and has also worked a ton in the yard. Today he was trimming the grass and clearing out some over growth in the bushes and stuff.
I took that pic yesterday when I ran LSN to the store (Smiths and post office) and they did that while I went to Walmart to buy more bowls with lids for sourdough. Lily made tres leches for FHE and we didn't do more than that for FHE last night cause we were pushing it to today when we took the kids to see Michael. I got "Moonwalk - Michael Jackson's One and Only autobiography" a week ago from the library and was finally able to make a little time to read that yesterday. It's a quick read, I got half way through. I guess as a teaser for that, however, we did watch a little bit of this 60 minutes Australia video of the Cascio family telling of Michael's alleged abuse (pretty graphic). I can't help but feel sympathetic when I listen to them, but I also totally believe MJ when I listen to him. I've got lots of MJ in my youtube algorithm and watched this interview with his lawyer. So is he guilty or not guilty? It went to trial and with at jury of peers who heard a lot more detail over 5 months than I can in my online searches, he was found not guilty on all 14 charges. I guess we'll find out in the next life.

This afternoon I went out to lunch with Chalane and Nancy to celebrate our birthdays in March April and May. We went to Aubergine in Sugarhouse, which has moved to a new location! It's bigger and very nice! After that I went by Jordan Commons and bought tickets to the Michael movie tonight at 8:50. Went with all of us CTWALSNODPK plus M&C. Ethan was busy so he and Bella weren't able to come, but hopefully next time. I don't think we've taken the kids to a movie since Incredibles 2. But maybe next time - I'm hoping we could make the $5 buck Tuesday a thing we do once a quarter if there is a good movie out. Or atleast once or twice a year.

After I came home from lunch is when I discovered some yard work that had been done yesterday. To quote from the "Wride Wife and Mom Club" messenger chat at 2:49 PM today:

"I have to express my sadness here as I process my feelings... Wesley has been doing yardwork and I told him and showed him the daisies that I didn’t want him to touch but then he cut them all out. That should’ve been my sign to really emphasize the roses, which I also did not want him to touch as they would have been blooming within a month. I told him not to touch them, but I guess it didn’t register cause he totally cut down the bush and I’m sad."

Isabella replied right away and grieved with me: oh no:(((

I continued "Although I have enough pictures of roses that I should be OK one summer without them..." Then I sent some photos of my roses from previous years and said "Pictures from last June" June 12 2024, June 7 2023June 12 2023... "They were my one joy in our yard... I guess I’ll have to get my rose fix by painting some this year" Jul 6 2022... but as for my roses blooming, nope... this is what is looks like this year… Sept 2021, I don't think they will recover by fall???

Oh my gosh I'm going to cry! This will take some time for the bush to recover and for my heart to heal, I'm so sad...
