Happy General Conference day!
Today Peter and Owen both had games at 10:15. Originally I was planning to do a repeat of last week, then decided to let Corey take Peter, but then Peter was just a little sick, he said, so I let him skip his game and I got ready to take Owen. Daniel's game was right after at 11:30 so I would have taken them both at the same time, but Daniel wasn't ready and wasn't hustling, so I left without him and left it in Corey's hands. Owen's games are fun to watch. He scored a goal, they won 4-2, and I was able to listened to the first session and take notes as I listened and paced the side line. Near the end of the game, I saw on Life360 that Corey was still at home, so I let his coach know Daniel wasn't coming. I didn't mind if Daniel missed cause then I could come home for conference. And since D didn't care either, I think that's a good sign that I prob won't be signing him up next fall. Owen played great. His games are really fun to watch. I was able to listen to most of the session from the sideline of the field, and I took a notebook and wrote down things I liked about looking to God in our trials, which is the route I think I'm going to take with my Relief society lesson next week on April 12. While I was watching the game I really loved Elder Bednar's talk on strength and endurance. It was really good and went along with things I'm thinking of for my lesson. I'm also going to look for some quotes that I could print and hand out. I got home after Owen's game and the girls had all been coloring as they listened to the first session.
Working on an Easter poster like we got last year. Peter still in his pj's joined in.So, after the session was over, I ran to the DI with most of the kids so we could get shoes for the camping trip on Monday.
Bro Gygi said we'll want shoes that will be ok if they get wet and sandy or muddy. And it's totally ok by me to to ruin shoes that we get thrifting. We were in and out pretty quickly and bought more than I planned (a few dresses for Katharine, cause she doesn't have enough dresses). Back for the second session of Conference. Ethan and Bella came by for that session. Corey didn't like Peter coughing around them and he took Peter upstairs for the afternoon session. Daniel coloring.
Natalie was taking pics with my phone. This is not going to hold until morning - tape on the ceiling and stuff?? Plus we're gonna neec to take this all down so we can watch conference tomorrow. I was slightly irritated - a waste of time (she hasn't practiced music) a waste of tape (cause it's all gonna fall off) and a lot to clean up in the morning cause we're not doing it now. I just finished making dough, it's past midnight, abi just got home. Goodnight.
