So things have quieted down a little bit here. My older sister and her kids were staying here since Sunday, but it was mostly just to sleep - they were busy and spent the day up in Idaho yesterday for Xela's graduation. They are now on their way back to Indiana. Things have quieted down a little bit, I was snuggling with Katharine this morning.
My sweet baby - almost two months old. Pure heaven.
We've been busy taking care of and finding more monarch eggs. We had one caterpillar turn into the chrysalis yesterday, and 4 more today. Natalie was showing a friend how to find eggs -
Natalie's become a good egg finder. There was news today that the monarch butterfly is now listed as endangered.
They are set up safe in our kitchen. We found a few more eggs today. The kids love it, and it's fun.
I could probably get passionate about it! I've been thinking it would be fun to make a monarch way station in the tree farm next to our home. Lisa said that when that was watered years ago, there was a lot of milkweed there. That would be fun to try to make that happen again. Caterpillars are cool how they go from looking so big and long...
To forming a plump j-hook, then to a small compact chrysalis! It's amazing. This guy looked so cute holding on to the top and bottom sides of the leaf as he ate - he's got some American Ninja Warrior door swing skills.
He'd be able to conquer that obstacle! Peter holding a caterpillar -
Pretty amazing creatures. A few more pictures - Joseph is in Puerto Rico visiting his friend Talmage. Talmage and his wife have been living there and working remotely this summer, pretty fun the world we live in that you can do stuff like that! I'll do a post with pictures from him later. He's going to bet here for about a week.
And a sweet pic of Katharine to finish the day -
She is adorable.
