Tonight we went with the Felix's to the Pirates Dinner Adventure.
It was a bit hokey, but the kids liked it. The girls had been talking about going to something like that and since tonight was our last night here in California, we wanted to do something the kids would really like so we went. One bad part of the night was that Peter was looking forward to eating his little hamburger so he was saving his little slider for the end, and then they came and took his plate without asking if he was done and we didn't get it back.I even asked one of the workers at the end of the night if they had one more burger for this little boy, but they said no. So that was sad for Peter.
So I told him we'll get him a tiny hamburger sometime, we'll try to make it up to you. Other than that things were good. Food was slightly below average, the plot of the pirate adventure was predictable, but the kids got to take part in the show - they walked up in redcoat jackets and got to shoot the bad guys.

I enjoyed the acrobatics with the aerial silks. The mermaid and her boyfriend got to do that. I'd like to have some of those hanging in our house someday.
So that was a highlight. Corey and the older girls also went sailing with Brent and his kids. That was a seize the moment decision that they enjoyed. Corey really liked learning about sailing and tell-tails - there's some cool symbolism in that! "A tell-tale or telltale, in a nautical or sailing context, is a piece of yarn or fabric attached to a sail, a stay, or any rigging on a sailboat."
So that was fun. I spent the day with kids swimming... (Jules was so cute with Katharine)

and following Katharine around. We tossed bean bags (cornhole) and some thing with neon lights -
then kept exploring the world with her.
And a fair share of being lazy just bumming around the hotel room.
But I had a good early morning, so it was ok to be lazy during the day. I woke up at 4:45, cause I knew the moon would be setting at 5:15 am, so hurried and got ready. Started 4:55 and ran down to the beach to see it. Had a good view from higher up...

But once I was at the Cove, it was hidden by the marine layer. Still enjoyed walking around the beach in the dark and seeing the sky light up all morning.

6.03 miles, 2 hours 9 minutes. I got a "congratulations" for my longest walk on Strava. I think tomorrow I might try to see the moon set again tomorrow.... Tomorrow moonset 5:41 am, sunrise 6:25. I'm also excited to try and see the full moon Saturday morning in Nevada on our way home! I lived in Arizona years ago and the full moon in the desert there was amazing <3
