This morning I went on a canyon bike ride for my first time this week. I rode my silver bike because my fezzari is in the shop from last Saturday's ride, at Salt Cycles waiting for a part to come in. I listened to this Diary of a CEO episode with Mindy Pelz on my ride. I put her book "Fast like a girl" on hold at the library. I was back in time to take Owen to his game at 9. On my way out, I saw Daniel was teaching his siblings about cup stacking, which he learned about yesterday at school.
They got out the paper cups. I was a little annoyed by that, cause now we can't/shouldn't use them for when we have company. They used some green, black, red, and pink cups, and K got some white cups. I was ok with the paper cups, but then I was upstairs listening to more of the Mindy Pelz podcast and I was kinda into it and taking notes, and I was hearing lots of something falling... I wondered what it was, but it didn't raise any signs of warning in me. When I went downstairs, I saw that Natalie had gotten the Costco bag of 250 clear plastic drinking cups and the kids had built a pyramid a few times and were now once again making an attempt to build a pyramid to the ceiling. NOT to be a party pooper, but I stopped the fun and saved two sleeves of cups before they became defiled by little children's hands or contaminated on our kitchen floor. I collected the cups they were using and put them away, but left them unwrapped, so that when we have company over, I'll know which ones are for guests (sleeved) and which ones are for our children (un-sleeved). We'll make it do. I went to Costco but didn't replenish the cups. Maybe I should get them the red cups for the kids to make a tower with. Those are bigger and wider, might be easier. They made a tower years ago when we were in the crosswood house, that was before the blog though so I'll have to go find the scrapbook pic, I'll see if I can find it. It's a good thing though, they are having fun and keeps them busy. Who needs toys! In the podcast, Mindy said to eat saurkraut with avocado! I was so proud that I learned that on my own, and hooray it's good for me. She said she adds hemp seeds, so I got some of those at Costco. I did do a water fast this morning (plus apple cider vinegar), then ate a big salad with spring mix, saurkraut, avocado, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, cauliflower, and beets. Trying to be healthy and stay alive to raise these kids for the next 30+ years.
Getting back into the swing of life after my quick trip to Ohio. I took advantage of Mel one more time yesterday as I went bouldering at Ft. Union at 11am, with Mel watching Katharine. I did 30 total, 24 sends, 6 attempts. Then we went to Peter's program. Sophi and Natalie had a track meet yesterday. I was surprised but pleased when they said they were signing up for track. That was near the end of March. It's just been April and May that they've had stuff. I guess they have a lot of friends that do track, so that sounds like a good group of kids to hang out with. It's been extra trips after school to pick them up, but we have a neighbor on the team too, and his mom has gone to the meets and thus has brought them home more than us, so that has been helpful. They had their final meet yesterday. Natalie took 2nd place in the mile run against all the other districts and all the other grades! Wow! Pretty good Natalie! Not bad for a 6th grader!!
