We've been taking trips to the park after dinner time this week.
The little kids begged to go, and the older kids tagged along. Then the older kids wanted to stay after the little kids were done... they were pleasantly surprised to find that there is lots of Ninja Warrior potential in this little elementary school park!Good news is that trips to the park at night might save my backyard from being totally turned into an obstacle course. Could save us money too (since all Joseph wants for Christmas is supplies to slowly create his own Mount Midoriyama before he graduates high school...)
So the big boys are working on their upper body strength and ninja skills. Girls just played.
Little kids enjoy the slide, Natalie practices going up and down stairs. Joseph and Ethan like to be the Ninja commentators as Natalie does her baby stuff, they call her Baby Ninja Warrior... "Natalie has had a little bit of trouble with stairs in the past... and the key here is to hold on to the side rails as you move your feet up the stairs... She cleared that one step with no problem, one more to go, and she will have made it... CaN ShE Do IT!??!?!"
And Natalie is like "Do you guys need something?!?! Are you guys okay?" Yeah, they're a little ninja crazy. Joe's making strides with his cliff hanger obstacle downstairs. He thinks by the time he's 21, he'll be ready to follow in Brian Arnold's footsteps. On Monday night we watched just the end of Ninja Warrior cause the kids wanted to see Brian at the Denver finals and they are jazzed that he is going back to Las Vegas. We all want him to win, here's his video from last years Denver qualifiers. The boys are totally pulling for Brian this year. As Ethan likes to say, "He is so boss!!"
