Today we went on a bear hunt. A neighbor sent out a text telling us about the idea, after she did it in her parents' neighborhood. How to play - put a teddy bear or stuffed animal in your window, then take your kids on a walk to see how many bears you can find. I put a bear out yesterday, and Daniel found it and brought it back inside (he didn't know about the game). So we tried again. Today we went on our hunt. We saw like 20. We didn't do the whole upper and lower neighborhoods, we just did a walk around the block. And I planned for us to do the loop to end at a neighbor's house who had an adorable idea of putting some bear cookies out on her porch. The kids like that.
We put out another bear by the mailbox
This afternoon we made progress with Joseph coming back to reality. Corey asked him last week to try to watch a movie with his siblings or play a Wii game with them or something - just to try to do something that is not important in the eternal scheme of things, but important to them. He let us know he has absolutely no interest in ever watching a clip from
90 day fiance again (We showed him one thing of the Las Vegas couple on Monday night) But today he did watch a Dennis Regan clip "
Not So Smart" with the kids. We all laughed and he seemed to enjoy it. Funny stuff.
And in other news the kids have rearranged rooms again - so Mel moved up to be in Abi's room, and they have moved things around. Abi had put a big dry erase board in the room, but Mel wanted it gone. So Mel moved it into the basement, and then I thought I'd try to put it up in the kitchen nook as a place for us to keep track of kids chores each day. Here's the tasks they completed yesterday. Not bad for the first day of accountability.
