At the Computer

Corey got me a new phone for Christmas, and today I finally called and set up my hot-spot, yay! That is good news for me, because Corey likes to keep youtube blocked here at home so that the kids don't waste time on it. Which also means that I can't put any of our home videos here on the blog, unless I turn on a hotspot for myself. So today I was finally able to do that, yay. It was nice weather this afternoon and I went out and blogged a bit while Peter jumped. He's such a cutie.

So I've been sitting at the computer a lot yesterday and today. I've almost finished blogging January, so almost yay for me. I'm almost only a month and a half behind. And every other spare moments has been spent looking up more talks and feasting more on the scriptures and the words of modern day prophets as I've continued to prepare for the lesson I'm teaching for church on Sunday. This October 1979 General Conference quote by President Kimball was amazing.

"I stress again the deep need each woman has to study the scriptures. We want our homes to be blessed with sister scriptorians—whether you are single or married, young or old, widowed or living in a family. Regardless of your particular circumstances, as you become more and more familiar with the truths of the scriptures, you will be more and more effective in keeping the second great commandment, to love your neighbor as yourself. Become scholars of the scriptures—not to put others down, but to lift them up! After all, who has any greater need to “treasure up” the truths of the gospel (on which they may call in their moments of need) than do women and mothers who do so much nurturing and teaching?"

I have felt so edified this week as I have studied, I feel a little bit like I've kinda been a sister scriptorian! I want to flood my life with the spirit and always have the power of God guiding me. I've loved studying how to get God's Power into my life, I'm excited to share this with the sisters in our ward. And I'll type it up here somewhere too, it's been a feast.

(5/14/21 Update - here on my "spiritual blog" are all the notes from my study and some of the things I shared today!)
