Peter dreaming today as he took a nap.
He rarely falls asleep at the counter, so we thought this was cute.Wesley has been cleaning his room. Good news, he found his noisy chicken! And he thought it was really fun how it sounds when it's drowning...
He's been going through some old school papers today. He is in the process of clearing out a filing cabinet, so he needed to go through it all and found this gem - which we thought was hilarious.
I didn't understand the drawing, and asked Wes to explain. Even though it as from years ago in elementary school, it was all clear in his memory. That is a bad guy being hung cause he was a bad guy, obviously! And you can see that he is a bad guy from the gold and money and a princess crown that are clearly falling out of his pockets as he hang on the gallows. There was also a treasure map in his other pocket. So funny. No killing and no bad guys!! His "dream" reminded me of when Abi and Lily wrote out their little elementary kid dreams... Lily's dream was a bit scary/sad,
Same with Abi's... What kind of horrible 'dreams' for a better future are they having? I have a dream to not be kidnapped or killed?!?!
Abi's no-kidnappers dream might have been because of us telling that little sensitive 5 year old Abi about Sierra Newbold. Perhaps that wasn't the best parenting move on our part... But we're at it again... Corey told the kids about Ted Bundy the other day, and he's been showing the kids these ABC special murder shows. We recently watched the one on Chris Smith who was killed by Ed Shin. The darn ABC Youtube channel NEVER HAS PART 6 to show the ending or let us learn what happens - just all this build up and then we have to google to see what happens. Lily warned us last night "No, let's not watch this, cause then we're just going to be mad later...." We actually did finish watching the Chris one on the ABC website today... Hyrum was waiting to use the computer, and we watched part 6, but it wasn't done, so we watched part 7... "You can have the computer in a sec..." part 8 "almost done" part 9 "shh, don't tell him we're still watching..." part 10, part 11, Hyrum comes in "What in the heck is going on!?!? You guys said 5 more minutes a half hour ago!!!!" "Sorry! We were almost done! This really is the last one..." There were 12 parts! Have there been 12 parts to all of these?!? That means that we haven't even seen half of each one. Yeah, we can't watch these 20/20 ones anymore. They keep Corey's mind engaged at work though when he's waiting for code to run. So that's about sad dreams and broken dreams of lives lost too early.
The girls are also dreaming about long hair. (Sorry, that wasn't the most gentle transition. I'm not sure how to transition from Chris' sad murder to talking about hair...) But I've been looking up some stuff to help Abi, who wants longer thicker hair. My hair is plenty thick, but it's never been that long... sometimes it will reach a certain longer length and then it's just a pain, so I trim it an inch and then I'm good again. But yesterday I came across this Instagram of Sarah Anna Bella has me thinking that maybe long hair could be fun! Corey and the boys are like "That is too long, no..." but the girls, especially Abi, Sophi, Natalie and I are all "Wow!!! So pretty!"
I also took too many screen shots of things that she recommended for styling and caring for hair: Alterna hair's CC Cream... Organic Argan oil by John Masters organics USA... Curl with a 1 inch barrel and spray with Schwartzkopfde Silhouette Super Hold. She likes (1/24/17) Caviar RepairX Re-Texturising Protein Creme... Her all time favorite (as of Feb 25 2017) shampoo and conditioner are Alterna Haircare's Replenishing Moisture range... Alterna Haircare's Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil to help with dullness and fizz (is that the same as frizz?) Also she said "Your diet is the foundation for what your hair and skin will look like..." Yay, maybe this will get the girls on board with eating healthier I took note of things that she mentioned to help with itchy scalp... That is a big problem for me. So I ordered MCT Oil and Squalane. I'm game for trying anything that claims it will help my itchy scalp and dandruff...
Her post was also this the first I'd ever heard of "hair masks"... I'm probably behind the times.
