8am to 8pm

I have been on the go all day today. Today was my scheduled Costco run with Terry to get the food for the reception. Our pan was to leave at 10, but since weather looked good and we were both up, we texted each other and left at 8:30 am. I put the platters and dishes that we picked up yesterday from Tara into the van, then went to Terry's house at 8:15, unloaded those along with some food I got at Winco late last night (chocolate covered pretzels, banana chips, and tiny pickles). Terry showed me dishes she picked up from the church and Aubrey. So far it looks good. Then we headed downtown. First we went to the Standard Restaurant Supply Store looking for napkins. Got those and green olives there. Then to the Business Costco. When we got there, I realized I didn't have my Costco credit card to pay. Corey took it on Saturday when he got food for Park City (his is lost). He was busy checking out from Park City, but paused to send me a photo of it. I went to the membership desk and a guy there helped me get it on my phone via the app. Yay, we can get in the store. I sat down on a couch and was able to add my credit card and verify it, yay I think I'll be able to pay with my phone. If not, I'll call Corey and he'll stop by on his way back from Park City, or drive out here. But I think I can pay with my phone, woot. Terry and I began to get things from our list for 350 guests. Terry had done her research and chat gpt helped her know how many pounds of food we'd need for 350 guests. First thing we went for was the meat. We go look at ham. I can't remember how many pounds she said we needed, but I do remember the cost of it was gonna be $350, and that's just the first thing on our list. I took a pause to plead to God for help. We looked around at other options. ended up getting 3 packages of beef sticks that we could cut into small pieces to put on the skewers and those were only $18 bucks each, yay! That's a lot better than cubing up a big ham. I think we can figure out a smart way to do all of this! So we walked around the store for 2 hours, looking at the list, checking the price and if it was doable, and if it wasn't, we found an alternative.

I was also texting Corey at this time about how much $ I had. I was hoping to keep it under $1000 but I didn't know if that would be possible? Corey gave me enough to spend $1400 if needed, and then said I could use another $700 on a different card if needed. He said just get enough food. With that comfortable wiggle room, we got everything on the list: salami, 4 types of cheese, grapes, strawberries, lemons, sugar snap peas, carrots, celery, tomatoes, peppers, cream puffs, cookies, chocolate covered nuts, crackers, pretzels, jam, plates, cups, etc etc.
We headed to the check out. I asked the cashier for the subtotal a few times, The first one, when it looked to me like we were half way through, was only $500 something. That was promising! I told the cashier our budget, she said she thought it looked like it was definitely under $1400. We got the subtotal two more times, and Terry and I knew we had enough for everything in our cart. Before we started ringing it up, we had set a few things to the side in case we didn't have enough $ for it. So when the final total was "only" $941.72 Terry and I were both high five-ing each other! Oh yeah, we got this! Woo!! After that, my stress was relieved and I have been a-o-k all day. We went to Winco for more pickles and a few other things, then took everything to Terry's house. ...but first I got pulled over by a cop in Midvale cause my brake lights weren't working. I got a violation paper and have to get them fixed, then get the paper signed, then turn the paper in, within 15 days. Yay.

At Terry's house we unloaded into her garage. Luckily it is cold enough that their garage can be their  extra fridge. I got back home, feeling light, took the van to Burt Bros to get the brake lights fixed. I put my head back against the wall as I waited in the waiting area there and fell asleep for a little bit. I hope I didn't snore. 30 minutes later the car was done, $114, yay, let's just keep spending money while we're spending money. Then I went straight to Midvale Justice Court. I didn't find a cop on the way there, but there was one at the court. She checked the lights, then signed my paper. I went to turn it in, they said I have to wait 5 days cause a violation from today is not in the system yet. Ok, I guess I get to come back.

Then I went clothes hunting. I went by Savers which was close by. I got another dress option for Katharine and a little white sweater for her. I found some shoe options for me and the girls but no dress luck. They didn't have fitting rooms, and I have to try stuff on to know if it will work. So then I went to Uptown Cheapskate, and didn't have any luck. there but was getting good at trying stuff on.

Then to Dillards. Try it on, take it off, try it on, take it off, repeat 5x.

I was texting Abi of my search and I eventually found a dress that I liked, that was comfortable, and even won Abi's approval.

So yay, I have a dress. I guess I'm ready! I was back home at 8pm, so I put in a solid 12 hours today! Corey and the kids got home around 1 but I've hardly seen them or anyone today. They went to a magic show at Park City and enjoyed that.

So tomorrow we'll finish flowers, but other than that, I think we're ready for the wedding!!!! Exciting <3
