Goodbye Again

The kids are back to their regularly scheduled lives, except for Mel and Christian who are in Hawaii! Hyrum and Wes left last night to drive back to Idaho for school. Saying bye to Mary ~

Joseph, Eliza and baby Mary are back in Ohio. Joseph missed a week of school in person, though he did so some stuff virtually, but he's got work ahead of him. They wanted to leave for the airport at 6am this morning, so I got up at 5:55, got dressed, went down, and... there were no lights on. I went to the basement, it was dark. I called down to Joseph and said it was 6 am. They said oops. They still had plenty of time to make their 8:30 flight. I got some Mary time while they got ready -

We're gonna miss this little smiley girl! This pic below is one of the cutest photos from the wedding that my sister Beka took while everyone was in between photos. They might be in between shots but Mary is ALWAYS camera ready!

That is the cutest little smiley 8 month face I've ever seen. So they got ready, we left at 6:45, and we also got stuck in traffic, so I was not back in time for carpool at 7:15. Not a big dead. I called Corey to take carpool. He didn't answer. I called Sophi, she went to give Corey the phone, and he took them. Bye to the Ohio Wrides!

And as for me, I'm planning on just catching my breath and trying to establish some order again around here. The teens at home have school and homework stuff too. They got to take a break yesterday though. First we had church at 9am. Sophi's friend took this photo of us from across the room, it made me laugh so hard! The kids joked that Sophi looked like she had a "single mom" filter on her photos, haha! Peter looks tires, Lily looks tired (she has a right to be) haha, yeah, we needed a recovery day. We were partying hard on Saturday night!

I did try to get back to my exercise routine by taking a bike ride to the ruins today. It took me almost an hour and a half to get to the top! 1:25 to the ruins. It was not pretty but I did it. Lots of HAB (hike a bike) on the climb, and slip n slide on the way down.

I listened to Follow Him on my ride. And since our house is in such a mess right now, I loved this thought by Dr. Rebekah Call at 9:09 about the process of creation (we just created a wedding):

"When you’re reading the Come, Follow Me introduction, it talked about God creating. We talk about God creating the world, but I think also each of us is in the middle of Creation right now. My life is in process of being creative. I’m living my life as I’m going and if I’m choosing to live that with God, then God also gets to be creating in my life. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that the creative process is messy. Go to any pottery studio, go watch a painter, or go watch the construction of a building. The process of Creation is inherently messy. A lot of times in my life, when I’m like, man, I feel like my life is really a mess right now. I’m not holding things together and this fell through the cracks. I made this mistake. I think it can be helpful to remember that God created the world, and that was a messy process, and look what we have. Look at the beauty that has been given to us in this world. Sometimes the messiest moments aren’t because something is wrong. It’s because Creation is happening. It needs to be messy. There needs to be stuff added in and stuff taken away and stuff trimmed and shaped, and that’s really beautiful. However messy our lives are, we’re in the middle of Creation."
