Well, I'm sick. It's 9pm, I just woke up from a 2 hour nap. All the kids are still in Pleasant Grove for a Grocery Shower with Christian's family. That was supposed to be from 5-7 but they are only just leaving.
Christian's mom just sent me a text that they all had a great time visiting and everyone wanted the kids to line up so they could see their place in the family.
Sounds like it was ok. I'm trusting that we'll feel better by tomorrow. Tomorrow night we are going up to Christian's parents' house for dinner and to have a chance for the siblings to share stories about Mel and Christian. Should be fun. I'll wear a mask if I'm still sick, but I won't miss that one. I have a sore throat, a head ache, and a cough. Last night on our date to Gourmadinse, we both noticed a slight soreness in the back of our throats. We had a temple trip planned with the kids and Wayne this morning. I thought I might stay home, but Corey got ready and then I thought I'd toughen it out - I felt tolerable enough. Good news was that I only almost had one coughing fit, but gum in my pocket helped me keep it under control, and another good thing was that it happened at a time when I was starting to get sleepy so bright side is that it woke me up for the remainder of the session. We went to the Jordan River 7:30 am session. Group pic after the session at 9:30, on our way out -
Oh, one thing I've done for the wedding, I've made boutonnières! I'm working on 30 of the, I'm about half way. Mel ordered magnets that got here yesterday, and I bought fake flowers at Michaels last week, and I glued together boutonnières so now I'm just attaching them to the magnets. Mel bought some real flowers at Trader Joe's yesterday and she made a bouquet for herself and a boutonnière for Christian yesterday evening before her bridal photos, which were taken yesterday evening.
Oh my goodness yesterday was crazy too... She's cranking out a bouquet and boutenieer, luckily I had floral tape and ribbon for it. Bouquet is done, and then Christian's sisters arrive to help Mel get ready for the photos, and soon Abi and Sophi joined in ~
She's ready for the camera! Everyone pleased to see their good work come together.
Get a coat, it's cold.
Ready to go - they headed out and went up Big Cottonwood Canyon for the bridal photos.
I was very impressed with her bouquet.
After they left, we discovered they left Christian's boutonnière. Hyrum and Wes were about to go run some pre-college errands, so they drove the boutonniere up to them first even though it wasn't on their way to the store. They got it to them before they realized it was missing. Go team. They said they were going to go to Silver Lake for the pics, but they were racing daylight, so when they arrived at the Donut Falls area it looked perfect so they stopped there.
Hyrum and Wes were busy doing stuff to get ready for college yesterday and today were their only days, cause of our freaking ski trip (just the thought of it is giving me stress - Corey was packing up stuff for it all day today). H&W are going to leave for Idaho on Tuesday so they can be up there before school starts Wednesday. Corey wanted them to ski on Tuesday, but they said they're going to leave early Tuesday instead to have time to move into their apartment and get ready. After Wes got home two days ago, I told him he could put his stuff in our bedroom. It's piled on the left there.
H&W on the floor doing stuff. I've got flowers I'm working on are on the coffee table, K's bed on the floor, laundry and wedding stuff here and there, ugh it's all a mess. And then yesterday after Mel and Christian got back from bridal photos, they picked up Owen Daniel and Peter to take them with them to a Monster Jam truck rally downtown with the Bennetts.
Fun times but also busy busy busy!!! Ok, kids are back from the Grocery Shower. We're going to go to bed. I'll probably stay home from church tomorrow. Praying to get better soon. My mom was sick with something that sounds similar to how I'm feeling, she said it lasted her 6 days. Tomorrow: Church, Bennett gathering at 4, then head straight to Park City.
